I am an incoming graduate student in the Department of Computer Science at University of Illinois Chicago.
Currently, I am fortunate enough to work as a PhD student under the supervision of Prof. Luis Pina at University of Illinois at Chicago exploring some fun research questions thats around concurrency and multithreading. I've also interest in dynamic software updates with rust and fuzzing in general.
Also, I'm thankful to Prashast Srivastava as I got to explore the intricacies of directed fuzzers and how they work under his mentorship.
Before that, I did my undergrad from the Islamic University of Technology, Dhaka, Bangladesh. My undergraduate thesis is in vulnerability analysis of WebAssembly binaries.
Summary: Finding vulnerabilities in binaries and exploiting them is a well researched field in computer security. With the advent of new byte code format for web - WebAssembly, classic techniques as well as new and innovative exploitation possibilities are arising as a new field of study. In this paper, we discuss about the prospects of vulnerabilities in WebAssembly binaries and their possible mitigation as proposed in existing studies.
